Thunderbolts* is an upcoming American superhero film produced by Marvel Studios. Directed by Jake Schreier, who has helmed several critically acclaimed and successful films, Thunderbolts will mark the 36th installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Eric Pearson, Lee Sung Jin, and Joanna Calo wrote the screenplay.
The film features an ensemble cast including Florence Pugh, Sebastian Stan, David Harbour, Wyatt Russell, Olga Kurylenko, Lewis Pullman, Geraldine Viswanathan, Chris Bauer, Wendell Edward Pierce, Hannah John-Kamen, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus. The story revolves around a group of anti-heroes who undertake missions on behalf of the government.

Filming took place from February to June 2024 at Trilith Studios and Atlanta Metro Studios in Atlanta, Georgia, with additional filming in Utah.
Release
Thunderbolts will be released in the United States on May 2, 2025, in IMAX. It was previously scheduled for release on July 26, 2024, December 20, 2024, July 25, 2025, and May 5, 2025. This film will mark the conclusion of Phase Five of the MCU.
